An Interview With LTC-003’s Captain Kit

Monsoon season has not deterred tourists from flocking to the gorgeous island paradise that is Phuket. Neither has it deterred the Licence To Clean project’s Chief Captain, Captain Kit, from attending his duties on the LTC-003; the foundation’s third coastal cleaner catamaran, which is fully supported by the Royal Phuket Marina.

We caught up with the captain just as he arrived at the marina, and were able to watch as he prepared the boat and equipment for its daily duties. With the boat prepped, trash cans empty and our team on-board, we set off up the klong. Captain Kit promptly lowered the collection basket into the water, and once he was sat back at the helm, we got chatting.

We hope these interviews have provided greater insight into the LTC project operations, and the impact they’re making on the environment, the captains and of course the communities they operate in.
