PROJECTS

70 % of the planet’s oxygen is produced by marine plants in the oceans, phytoplankton, kelp and algae.

These plants, just like land forests and vegetation, produce oxygen as a byproduct of photosynthesis, absorbing carbon dioxide (CO2) and releasing oxygen. They are also an essential part of the food chain of which we, humans, are a part. All life on Earth depends on the Oceans.

While coastal seas represent 7% of the total aquatic surface of the planet, they are the breeding ground to 95% of the world’s marine life. These nearby areas are the most affected by human interaction. The foundation’s first main projects are directed to the restoration and preservation of the immediate marine surroundings, by implementing sustainable coastal development practices.
