This afternoon, we were thrilled to share a glimpse into our seagrass planting initiative at Pullman Panwa and its stunning surroundings. The warm welcome extended by General Manager Vincent Delsol set the tone for an inspiring day.
With the invaluable assistance of a remarkable team, including Mr. Werapong Koedsin, Ph.D and Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at Prince of Songkla University, K. Jeab, Director of the Phuket Aquarium, Mrs. Vipawee Dummee, Ph.D. and Deputy Assistant Director at PSU, and the expertise of Mark Isentald, Seagrass researcher, we embarked on a mission to spread awareness.
Together, alongside dedicated researchers, passionate students, and enthusiastic volunteers, thanks Simon Aloha Diving we replanted numerous seagrasses from the PMBC nursery. These were joined by seagrasses grown right here at Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort.
It’s moments like these that remind us of the power of unity.
As we always say, “Alone, we can’t achieve much, but together, we can do great things.”
Of course, this is a very small-scale planting compared to the massive quantity of seagrass we lose worldwide. We hope soon to make a difference with our future on-land seagrass nursery, but for now, we are glad to raise awareness and teach the new generation about the essential importance of seagrass.
Stay tuned for the photo updates as we take one step closer to safeguarding our precious marine ecosystems.
